Brief history of AnimalPicturesArchive.com

Animal Pictures Archive was first launched in May 1995 with hundreds of images as the title of "Bioinfo Animal Pictures Archive". To solve the network congestion, AnimalPicturesArchive moved to www.best5.net/animal/ in Jun, 1998. Those days the webmaster was not aware of the copyrights and collected most of the animal images posted to several newsgroups. By the late 1999, there were about 30 thousand images in the archive. And then many photographers and copyright holders claimed about the copyright violation, and about 90% of the images should be removed from this site. In the late Oct, 2000, Animal Pictures Archive took it's own domain name, AnimalPicturesArchive.com.
