Six young barn owls, each about five-months-old, perch in a flight cage at the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center in Palm City, Fla., Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007. On Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 the owls will be placed in three nesting boxes atop telephone poles erected on the grounds of the old Martin County Landfill with the hope the owls will decide to make the former landfill area their new home and thus decrease the local rodent population.
