The forewings have an orange-red basal part and the rest brown with a central group of pale yellow spots that respect the brown apex. The hindwings are brown with an orange-red basal part from which short orange-red lines start. Heliconius egeria is found in Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela and Brazil.
