The tundra swan (Cygnus columbianus) is a small Holarctic swan. The two taxa within it are usually regarded as conspecific, but are also sometimes split into two species: Bewick's swan (Cygnus bewickii) of the Palaearctic and the whistling swan (Cygnus columbianus) proper of the Nearctic.

The Canada goose (Branta canadensis) is a large wild goose species with a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brown body. Native to arctic and temperate regions of North America, the migration of Canada geese occasionally reaches northern Europe.

The brant, also known as the brent goose (Branta bernicla) is a species of goose of the genus Branta. The black brant is an American subspecies. The black brant or Pacific brent goose (Branta bernicla nigricans) is a subspecies of the brant goose that breeds in Alaska and winters in Baja California.
