The spur-thighed tortoise (or Greek tortoise) (Testudo graeca) is one of five species of Mediterranean tortoise (family Testudinidae). The spur-thighed tortoise is a very long lived animal, achieving a lifespan of upwards of 125 years, with some unverified reports of up to 200 years.

The Florida softshell turtle (Apalone ferox) is a species of softshell turtle native to the Southeastern United States. Apalone ferox is found primarily in the state of Florida, but it also ranges to southern sections of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas.

8. Chelydra serpentina = common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina)
The common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina) is a large freshwater turtle of the family Chelydridae. Its natural range extends from southeastern Canada, southwest to the edge of the Rocky Mountains, as far east as Nova Scotia and Florida. This species and the larger alligator snapping turtle are the only two species in this family found in North America (though the common snapping turtle, as its name implies, is much more widespread).

9. Chelone imbricata = hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)
The hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) is a critically endangered sea turtle belonging to the family Cheloniidae. It is the only extant species in the genus Eretmochelys. The species has a worldwide distribution, with Atlantic and Indo-Pacific subspecies.
