1. Pleuronectes platessa = European plaice (Pleuronectes platessa)
The European plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) is a commercially important flatfish. The geographical range of the European plaice is off all coasts from the Barents Sea to the Mediterranean, also in the Northeast Atlantic and off Greenland.

2. Solea vulgaris = common sole (Solea solea)
The common sole, Dover sole, or black sole (Solea solea) is a species of flatfish in the Soleidae family. It is a flatfish living on the sandy or muddy seabed of the northern Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea where it often semi-immerses itself in the substrate.

3. Rhombus maximus = turbot (Scophthalmus maximus)
The turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) is a species of flatfish in the family Scophthalmidae. It is a demersal fish native to marine or brackish waters of the North Atlantic, Baltic Sea, the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. The turbot is a large left-eyed flatfish found primarily close to shore in sandy shallow waters.

4. Gadus morrhua = Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua)
The Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) is a benthopelagic fish of the family Gadidae, widely consumed by humans. It is also commercially known as cod or codling. Dry cod may be prepared as unsalted stockfish or as cured salt cod or clipfish.

5. Gadus aeglefinus = haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus)
The haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus) is a saltwater fish, found in the North Atlantic Ocean and associated seas.

6. Scomber scomber = Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus)
The Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus), also known as Boston mackerel, Norwegian mackerel, Scottish mackerel or just mackerel, is a pelagic schooling species of mackerel found in the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea, and the north Atlantic Ocean.

7. Clupea harengus = Atlantic herring (Clupea harengus)
Atlantic herring (Clupea harengus) is a herring in the family Clupeidae. It is one of the most abundant fish species in the world. Atlantic herrings can be found on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, congregating in large schools.
