The Aphrodite fritillary (Speyeria aphrodite) is a fritillary butterfly, from North America.

The silvery checkerspot (Chlosyne nycteis) is a species of Nymphalinae butterfly that occurs in North America.

The orange sulphur (Colias eurytheme), also known as the alfalfa butterfly and in its larval stage as the alfalfa caterpillar, is a butterfly of the family Pieridae. It is found throughout North America from southern Canada to Mexico.

The southern dogface (Zerene cesonia) is a North and South American butterfly in the family Pieridae, subfamily Coliadinae (until recently the species was sometimes placed in the related genus Colias instead of Zerenia).

The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae) in the family Nymphalidae from North America. Other common names depending on region include milkweed, common tiger, wanderer, and black veined brown.

The mourning cloak or Camberwell beauty (Nymphalis antiopa) is a large butterfly native to Eurasia and North America.

The checkered white or southern cabbage butterfly (Pontia protodice) is a common North American butterfly in the family Pieridae. Its green larva is a type of cabbage worm.

The southern pearly eye, Portland pearlyeye or just pearly eye (Enodia portlandia) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found in the United States from eastern Oklahoma and eastern Texas east through the southeast.

The American painted lady or American lady (Vanessa virginiensis) is a butterfly found throughout North America. Vanessa virginiensis is most easily distinguishable by its two large eyespots on the ventral side, whereas V. cardui has four small eyespots and V. annabella has none.
