Hi, I came across this beautiful rattler near the Mojave preserve but I searched all types of rattlesnake images and this particular rattler just doesn't come up. It's not the Mojave Green, it's not a sidewinder. It had a beige-pink, marbled color to it and very faint diamond blotches on it with a light blue head. And it was 2ft. long and it had I'm assuming all of it's rattles. It's rattle was small. well the snake itself wasn't that big either. It wasn't that aggresive or disturbed of me being around it, it wasn't rattling. But I wasn't trying to pick it up either. I was just hiking with my son and daughter following this collard lizard and it ran into this dry bush and I had a hiking stick so I poked at the bush and this snake comes out, slowly, not rattling and it just pauses in front of us. My kids stepped back a few feet just in case. But I had at least 15 minutes to observe this beauty
and admire it. I got a chance to video tape it. But I just couldn't Identify this snake. I love snakes, my favorite snake is the sidewinder but I also respect them, not to mess with them. I don't remember ever seeing such a rattlesnake like this one. Based on the description of the snake, can you identify it?

Hello...... This is a typical looking example of the Red Diamond Rattlesnake (Crotalus r. ruber). Large adults may exceed 5 ft. in length. I am a professional snake breeder, and am 100% sure of the identification.
