artist comment:

This old cottage is built of natural elements that have an organic
quality in their decay. The cycle of nature is played out for us to
see as the wood rots and the stonework crumbles.

Inside I found a blackbird's nest tucked deep in the wall where a
stone had fallen and higher up were the remains of several old
swallow nests.

In building our barns and outhouses we have unwittingly, but to our
delight, provided nest sites for countless generations of birds.
