Caribbean flamingo chicks typically weigh about four ounces at hatching and have a gray, cotton-ball-like appearance, according to SeaWorld. The chicks grow quickly, sometimes gaining as much as 20 percent of their body weight daily and begin to stand and walk at about three to four days of age. Chicks will leave the nest mound at four to seven days but parents feed their young up to three months.
