Recent undated holotype of the decapod Kiwa Hirsuta "Yeti" crab collected by the slurp gun of the submarine Alvin off the hydrothermal vente areas of the Easter microplate and Pacific-Antartic ridge. A French biologist reported the find of a bizarre species of hairy crustacean that lives near hydrothermal vents in the deep Pacific Ocean. The creature, a previously unidentified species of squat lobster, is so furry that it has been dubbed the "Yeti crab."(AFP/HO/J.F. Dejouannet)
