Domestic geese fly over the Danube after being scared by Romanian veterinary workers who came to cull them after being suspected of carrying the bird flu virus, in the village of Vulturul, 300km (186 miles) east of Bucharest, October 15, 2005. The British laboratory testing Romanian bird flu samples confirmed on Saturday that the highly pathogenic H5N1 strain was present, a spokesman told Reuters. The spokesman for the British department testing the samples said they were continuing to work to establish the origin of the virus and the link to a strain found in Turkey.
