Nope, not an anaconda, this is a "Columbian Red Tailed Boa".
All though, it is Not a wild boa, it's color suggests that it is a
Domestic (U.S. Born) Boa.

The name columbian red tailed is not correct. Columbian is a common name for
common boa B.c.imperator, the redtailed boas are B.c.constrictor. There are
many common names for each but scientifically the one in the photo is a
B.c.constrictor (red-tail).

In my opinion, from what I can see in the photo, it looks to be a true
'red tail" (Boa c. constrictor), though boas of many subspecies can be somewhat variable, and display different characteristics from others in the same geographical range. I've seen some beautiful examples, and some that were not so impressive... In parts of Venezuela, especially the western area, it's also possible to have some influence from (B. c. imperator) from Colombia. The length of red on the tail portion, long oval spacing between most of the saddles, and other subtle differences, are basis for my opinion..... In any case, it's a Boa Constrictor, NOT an Anaconda!!! ...... PS.. For all you so called "EXPERTS" out there,.. the country in South America, is spelled Colombia.., NOT Columbia.
