These deer are listed as Whitetail deer, but are in fact Mule deer.
There are several distinguishing features that denote the difference,
such as; antler formation and the black tipped tail.
The mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) is a deer indigenous to western North America; it is named for its ears, which are large like those of the mule.
