 Description 
Table Of Contents: Although it lays only 2 eggs in a clutch, the mourning dove raises many broods in a season and has been found nesting in every month of the year in many parts of the United States. It is our most abundant and widespread dove, a protected "songbird" in some states and an esteemed game bird in others.  
Abstract: Trim-bodied with long tail tapering to a point. Black spots on upperwing; pinkish wash on underparts. In flight, shows white tips on outer tail feather.
