These appear to be Great Horned Owl chicks, not Great Grey. GHOs have ears, GG don't. Also the eyes of GHOs are very large, GGs aren't. The white "bow tie" under the beaks is also a GHO characteristic.

Added note. Carl Brenders is a superior painter and he knows these are GHO babies. It is the person who posted the photo of the painting that got it wrong, not the artist. Brenders paintings are very well researched and his talent is beyond belief.
