Hiya gang!
Took a trip to Basildon Zoo at the weekend, and as I had pix of all
their cats I decided to take some non-cat pictures of the other animals
they have there. Posted are the best from the roll.
I didn't bother with an index since there's only six.
Enjoy! Yours, Pont.

The Indian eagle-owl (Bubo bengalensis), also called the rock eagle-owl or Bengal eagle-owl, is a large horned owl species native to hilly and rocky scrub forests in the Indian Subcontinent. It is splashed with brown and grey, and has a white throat patch with black small stripes. Bubo bengalensis was earlier treated as a subspecies of the Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo). The Indian eagle-owls are usually seen in pairs. It has a deep resonant booming call that may be heard at dawn and dusk.
