In my opinion, from what I can see in the photo, it looks to be a true
'red tail" (Boa c. constrictor), though boas of many subspecies can be somewhat variable, and display different characteristics from others in the same geographical range. I've seen some beautiful examples, and some that were not so impressive... In parts of Venezuela, especially the western area, it's also possible to have some influence from (B. c. imperator) from Colombia. The length of red on the tail portion, long oval spacing between most of the saddles, and other subtle differences, are basis for my opinion..... In any case, it's a Boa Constrictor, NOT an Anaconda!!! ...... PS.. For all you so called "EXPERTS" out there,.. the country in South America, is spelled Colombia.., NOT Columbia. |
