A bit of testing: Monopod and bad weather :-) Lion in Schwerin Zoo Hi again,
last Sunday I did a short trip to the little zoo of Schwerin, former
GDR, about 70 miles from where I live. Contrary to my usual habits I
chose a day with poor weather - cold and mostly cloudy. The reason was
that I wanted to try a cheap monopod I had just bought and was looking
for shutter times of 1/170 and above.
As you can see from the one attached, some of these test shots even are
worth posting here :-) As to the monopod, my feeling was that it extends
usable shutter times by a factor of about 4 - this one was taken at 300
mm, about 1/90 s of shutter time, and still is crisp although taken
through a milky glass window. Seems as if the monopod is quite an
accomplishment as to my pictures - further examples, I hope, will follow
soon.
