The long-tailed parakeet (Psittacula longicauda) is a species of parakeet that is native to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sumatra, Borneo, and Peninsular Malaysia (including Singapore). It is mainly green with a long blue tail and the male has a black cap and red face. The female lacks the black cap and has less red. The long-tailed parakeet is an extremely social bird and is usually seen in small groups, but flocks of thousands of birds have been seen in the Andaman Islands and Borneo. The Enggano long-tailed parakeet (Psittacula longicauda modesta) is found in Enggano Island (Pulau Enggano).
