The European flying squid (Todarodes sagittatus) is a species of squid from the continental slope and oceanic waters of the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The European flying squid is a large species of squid with a maximum reported size of 75 cm measured by mantle length for an unsexed specimen, while the largest mantle length known for a male is 64 cm.

c...e. Loligo Meneghinii ( = Histioteuthis reversa (reverse jewel squid)? )
Loligo meneghinii is a species of squid in the family Loliginidae, found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Loligo meneghini can be another name of Histioteuthis reversa(uncertain).
Order: Myopsida > Family: Loliginidae > Genus: Loligo > Species: Loligo meneghinii
f...h. Loligo alessandrinii = Ancistrocheirus lesueurii (sharpear enope squid)
The sharpear enope squid (Ancistrocheirus lesueurii) is a moderately sized species of squid that can be found throughout the tropical and subtropical oceans. It has a mantle length of 25 cm and tends to be found at mesopelagic depths (200–1,000 m down). The squid has a heavily pigmented buccal crown and hooks on all its arms. Photophores occur throughout its body, with large photophores present on its head, funnel, base of arms, and tentacular stalk. Other photophores are present on the ventral surface of its mantle, with numerous very small photophores on its head, funnel, base of arms II and tentacular stalk.
Order: Oegopsida > Superfamily: Enoploteuthoidea > Family: Ancistrocheiridae > Genus: Ancistrocheirus > Species: Ancistrocheirus lesueurii
i....l. Loligo bianconii = Onychoteuthis banksii (common clubhook squid)
The common clubhook squid (Onychoteuthis banksii) is a species of squid in the family Onychoteuthidae. Onychoteuthis banksii is found in the central and northern Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. The clubs on the end of the tentacles bear two rows of strongly recurved hooks.
