The brown snake eagle (Circaetus cinereus) is a large African bird of prey measuring 71–78 cm long with a 160–185 cm wingspan. It has uniform dark brown plumage, a large angular head, piercing yellow eyes and heavily scaled pale legs that protect it from venomous snakebites.
