The flame-winged parakeet (also brown-breasted parakeet) is a medium-sized, mostly green parakeet from Colombia's Andes, distinguished by its reddish-brown neck and breast with a scaly look, prominent white eye-ring, and vibrant yellow/orange-red flashes in its wings visible in flight, giving it its name. Its tail is dull red, and it inhabits cloud forest edges at high altitudes, often seen in small flocks.
