The Sulawesi palm civet is a nocturnal member of the family Eupleridae, which also includes the Malagasy carnivores. Classified as a viverrid, it shares its family with other civets and genets. Although small in size, it possesses an essential place in its ecosystem, acting as a seed disperser and predator of small vertebrates and invertebrates.
