This species is commonly found in the Mediterranean Sea and in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. It can grow up to 70 centimetres long. Its eyes are located on its back behind the spiracles. These spiracles or “holes” allow water to enter during breathing. It is an oviparous species that lays its eggs on the seabed. The eggs are protected by a rugged egg case. | |
