Sally lightfoot crabs are one of the most common saltwater crabs along the western coast of South America. They are also very common along the coast of Central America and Mexico and nearby islands. The sally lightfoot crab is one of the few saltwater crab species that inhabits the Galápagos Islands and is often found sharing seaside rocks with marine iguanas.
