The red-whiskered bulbul has adapted to forests, scrubland, farms and suburban gardens. Bulbuls have been introduced to many parts of the world from their homes in India, Southeast Asia and China. In some places, the introductions have been unfortunate for the local people because the birds destroy the native fruit crops.
