The smooth or short-tail stingray is one of the many species that is often referred to as bull rays. It can have a span width of up to 2 meters (6 feet) and it can grow up to 4.3 meters (14 feet) in length. It is plain with a bluntly angular snout and pectoral disc with round tips, a thick-based tail shorter than the body and a small upper and a long lower caudal finfold. It is often grey-brown or bluish-grey with a row of small, pale blue spots at each pectoral fin base, and white ventrally. | |
