The long-nosed mongoose (Herpestes naso) is a mongoose native to Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Kenya, Niger, and Tanzania. The long-nose mongoose lives near and around marshy habitats which allows them to feed on freshwater animals around their environment. The long-nose mongoose is dependent on a watery environment. Order: Carnivora, Family: Herpestidae, Subfamily: Herpestinae, Genus: Herpestes, Species: Herpestes naso de Winton, 1901.
