I am a fox enthusist, especially gray fox, but this pic puzzles me.
Foxes don't howl, at least as far as I know. Though yes, that looks
like a gray fox, I really don't think it is. Is it possible that it
could just be a dark coated coyote, I know those are out there and
look very similar. Once again, foxes don't howl. The canis genus is
the only one I'm aware of, and are not related to vulpes, or the
other fox genuses. I would appreciate feedback if possible. I could
be wrong and would like to know.

This animal is a Coyote. Foxes don't howl, and gray foxes don't live in
grassland, they live in forests in the south eastern United States.
