Dzo, Yakow (Yak-Cattle Hybrid) {!--야카우,조--> A Dzo Carrying Our Gear
One of the things that makes a trek a lot more enjoyable than do-it-yourself camping is that you don't have to carry your gear. It is carried by dzos (a cross between a cow and a yak). These hardy animals can stand both the cold and the altitude, characteristics they get from yaks, but are more docile, like cows.
The other aspects of trekking that make it more fun than do-it-yourself camping are that the porters and camp attendants set up and take down the tents and cook the meals. And there is great comaraderie as well.
