과명 : 갈매기과(Laridae) 목명 : 황새목(Ciconiiformes) 국명 : 노랑발갈매기 학명 : Larus cachinnans 영명: Yellow-legged Gull 다리는 노란색. 재갈매기에 비해 부리의 노란색이 밝은 편. 머리에 줄무늬가 없고 등의 회색이 재갈매기보다 약간 짙다. 몸길이는 약 60 - 62cm. 93년에 국내에 도래하는 것을 처음으로 관찰. 현재는 한국전역의 해안에 소수가 규칙적으로 도래하는 겨울철새이다. 한국에 도래하는 아종은 알타이 남동부와 바이칼호에서 몽고에 이르는 지역에서 번식하고 중국 남부지방에서 월동 한국(아산만, 천수만(서산간척지), 금강하구, 만경강, 동진강), 유라시아 대륙
