Description | Atlantic Central American milksnake (L.t.polyzona) hypomelanistic
The Atlantic Central American milksnake (L.t.polyzona) is a lowland subspecies that occurs from along the Atlantic coast in Veracruz and Tabasco, Mexico, into the northern lowlands of Guatemala and Belize. This is a young adult male that appears to be hypomelanistic, and possibly even hypoerythristic. Where normally this snake would be red, it is more of an orange, and the black has been replaced by a purpish-brown color. Captive breeding will help definitively determine the genetics of this unusual specimen. | |
