The small copper, American copper, or common copper (Lycaena phlaeas) is a butterfly of the Lycaenids or gossamer-winged butterfly family. Lycaena phlaeas is widespread and common across Europe, Asia, and North America, and also found in North Africa south through to Ethiopia.
