| Description | 추자도 슴새의 부화
슴새는 여름에 한국, 중국, 일본 등지에서 번식을 하고 필리핀, 뉴기니, 보르네오 등지로 8천km를 날아가서 겨울을 난다. 바다새인 슴새는 이착륙이 어색한데 제주의 추자도는 경사가 급한 곳이 많아서 바람을 이용하여 착륙하는 슴새의 번식지로 적당하고 한다. 포란 65일째가 되어 슴새가 부화준비를 하고 있다. 어미 슴새는 알을 깨뜨려 새끼 슴새의 부화를 돕는다.
