Mr. Oversized Paws again - more of Batu the tiger cub Hi once more,
just scanning through one of the negative strips from Heidelberg Zoo
with nothing but the tiger gang on it, I am pretty surprised how little
garbage there is among them. The old Heidelberg Zoo tiger enclosure
(which will soon be replaced by a spacious new one) is completely in the
shadow with "shaky" shutter times even when using 400? material - mine
were about 1/60 of a second and longer which usually means you're asking
for trouble when shooting at an f of 200+ millimeters. However, the ones
scanned so far are promising. BTW, I paid another visit to Hagenbeck Zoo
today where their Siberian tigress had a quadruplet (!) of kitties in
May - they are not yet in the open space enclosure but in the outdoor
cage where photographing is difficult (due to the fence) but possible -
I shot a whole roll at them of which I hope some will be worth
displaying here. If what I saw is on the film, be sure not to miss those
pics (of which I shall scan the first ones in a week or so) - they're
definitely worth the wait!
Greetings from Germany -
Ralf
