Description		Yellow mongoose(Cynictis penicillata) in Schwerin Zoo - as promised, here's the whole thing :-) Hi again, as threatened in my previous contribution, here is the full body shot of that yellow mongoose sweetie living in Schwerin Zoo. The mongoose, by the way, share their burrows with the meerkats and seem to get over pretty well. of course, I have also taken a few meerkat shots but I am too tired to scan them today :-) Tomorrow's another day and you'll eventually get the meerkat pics (if they are usable for scanning which I have yet to check). The yellow mongoose (Cynictis penicillata), sometimes referred to as the red meerkat, is a member of the mongoose family averaging about 1/2 kg in weight and about 50 cm in length. It lives in open country, from semi-desert scrubland to grasslands in Angola, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
