More of Batu the Sumatran tiger cub - Kitty and Daddy in Heidelberg Zoo, 1024x768 Hi again,
during my last professional stay in South Germany, I originally planned
to spend a day off in Wilhelma Zoo, Stuttgart. Because the weather was
in between sunny and cloudy, I not to risk the trip to Stuttgart (70
miles) but to see Heidelberg Zoo instead. Heidelberg Zoo is
comparatively small but has a nice pride of Sumatran tigers - I usually
dislike pictures with the enclosures visible but this one (and more, I
hope, if the scans turn out good) had to be taken. As you can see, the
cats are completely out of sunlight, so there may be not too many usable
shots at 300 mm of focal length. BTW, they are building a new, spacious
tiger enclosure, so there may be an opportunity for South Germany
travellers to get better pics in the future. Anyway, I think this is a
pretty sweet one - I took 15+ pics of the cats, so do expect some more
in the weeks to come.
Greetings from Geesthacht -
Ralf
