Description | Benji the Hunted is a 1987 children's film about a dog trying to survive in the wilderness. It was released by Walt Disney Pictures. This was the last Benji movie to star Benjean in the title role. The film is notable for the fact Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert disagreed on the film, with Siskel criticizing Ebert for giving a "thumbs up" rating to this film but not Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket.
In this children film Benji the Hunted, the show dog Benji is lost at sea and winds up in the wilderness of Oregon to fend for himself. Benji's one and only plan is to get back into his master's arms as soon as possible, until he finds four orphaned cougar kittens whose mother was shot by a hunter. Now his ultimate task is to get the four orphaned kittens into the care of another mother cougar with her single child while avoiding the threatening animals of the wild. | Tags | Benji the Hunted, 1987, Joe Camp, Benji, Mike Francis, Nancy Francis, Guy Hovis, Frank Inn, Red Steagall, animal film, dog, cougar, Benjean, Benjean the Dog, Steve Zanolini, Ben Vaughn, Karen Thorndike | Out-Links | IMDB - Benji the Hunted (1987)
