It was cold out the day I took these shots, and the road runner is sitting
on a warm rock with his back to the sun, fluffing out his feathers so his
skin can catch some UV rays and convert it to vitamins he needs to survive.
At least, that's what the trainer said.  And, too, he can warm up by
fluffing his feathers, thus conserving calories.  Road runners _do move and
act like their cartoon counterparts.  [They did not have a coyote in the
show.]
