Here is the issue: In a quick review
of your site, I find many copyright protected images by my
photographers, I find many others by other professional photographers
and stock photo agencies and even several whose copyright is owned by
National Geographic. I believe I speak for all of these organizations
and individual photographers when I say it is absolutely imperative that
our copyrighted images be removed immediately. However, given that there
are over 17,000 images on your archive, there is no way I can justify
the expenditure of placing a staff member to examine the entire archive
and report to you which images must be removed. I suggest instead that
it is incumbent upon you to remove all images for which you have any
doubt whatsoever as to whether you can legally post it to your site. If
this means you need to take the site offline while you make these
determinations, I regret the inconvenience. However, the present posting
of our copyright protected images constitutes infringement and is a
significant liability to our business. Please remove all our images from
the site within 24 hours.

Notify me of any Copyright
Violation
As you can see in the left text box, there may be some copyright
protected images in my archive. I do not want to steal credits for the
photographers or the copyright holders, nor encourage piracy.
However, it is very difficult for me to clarify whether an
image is copyright-protected or not. If you have found copyright protected
images, please notify me of them with
e-mail (jskim@AnimalPicturesArchive.com), or leave
a comment to under the image.
My apologies for violatiing copyright should go to
Dr. Sudia, mindenpictures.com, BCI, Lorraine Hill, James D. Watt, Innerspace Visions
Photography, Art Brewer, etc. I removed thousands of
their copyright-protected images from my site recently.

Subject: photos on sight
In viewing your sight recently I dismayed to find a number of my
copyrighted images on your sight. Lots and lots of them. I also viewed many
photos in the hundreds if not thousands that were from other photographers
that I am familiar with and work with. Please remove all photos from your
sight that you do not have permission to use. This type of distribution
hurts our business and is also against copyright law!! The number of photos
is so lengthy on my part that I don't have the time to review them all. It
is up to you to have them removed!!! Please do so within 24 hours.

Subject: copyright violations
As best I can tell, ALL of the pictures on your site have been illegally
obtained, and represent copyright violations. Below, please find a short
list of a few of the images for which we hold the copyright or represent
the copyright holders. To avoid legal action you must notify us immediately
of where you obtained these images so that we can attack the theft at the
source. Like Minden pictures, we cannot afford to search your site to
discover every stolen picture among the thousands of pictures there. To
protect yourself, you should shut your site down, and only put back up
those pictures for which you can verify there is no copyright protection.
This will leave you with very few pictures, because, by law, all pictures
are protected by copyright unless that right has been waived at some point.
I'm looking forward to hearing back from you promptly regarding the source
of our stolen images. Your site says that the orignal "poster" will be with
the picture to identify the source, but there was no such information by
any of the pictures below.
Sincerely,
Doug Perrine, President
